God (I)

Who had imagined the fact that one day some human beings will be sitting to decide the matter of God? Perhaps no one had imagined the attempt made by human beings in the 21st century that invigorated a question again in our minds, Are you there God? This question finds as much relevance in the modern era as much was relevant thousands of years ago. The prince of Kapilvastu Siddharth rejected the throne and luxurious life and renunciate the materialistic world in search of God.

If we look at history, it is full of many great souls who dedicated their lives to God and reached there. You may have heard the name of Maharishi Dadheechi who had donated his bones for the sake of God and the welfare of mankind at large, in this series of austerity, renunciation, determination, dedication, and devotion many other ancient names can also be added such as Charak, Bharadwaj, Kapil, Sushrut, Agastya, Vashishth, Vishvamitra, Atri, Vamdev, Shaunak, Kanva, etc. of Vedic religion. Further, if we look at other religion, we can find the names of great Souls devoted to spirituality to find out the existence of God. In this regard, the name of Bodhidharma is not still unknown who got the superpower through spirituality. Adam, Sheesh, Ibraheem, Ismail, Ishaq, Yaqoob, Yahya, David (Dawood), Yusuf, Suleman (Solomon), Musa, Isha (Jesus), and Muhammad are the messengers of God under Abrahamic Religions who claimed to know God. It is said that Zarathustra is the main messenger under Zoroastrianism who gets the divine knowledge while bathing in a river. Sikhs have 10 Gurus to reveal the divine knowledge to mankind.

The purpose of mentioning all these great personalities is just to understand how they achieved the divine knowledge of God, and you may have understood that it comes through a spirituality of devotion, renunciation, determination, austerity, penance, and good deeds. While on the other hand, the Materialistic will claim that there is no God but the universe, in this regard the name of Professor Stephen Hawking is the first. Professor Stephen Hawking while explaining the Big-Bang Theory challenged the existence of God that the universe is not created by God, but the universe is self–created through the huge explosion, and then it expanded and gradually cooled down creating the Planets like Earth and other stars in the Universe.

Life exists beyond the materialistic world, to know God you need to look beyond the material world into spirituality.

The Kingdom of God is Within You…………

Recalling an event that I had joined last year, I met with two children aged about 12- 13 years debating on the existence of God, one said to another, there is God the superpower. While others countered it by saying if God exists why, we can’t see him, where is God’s face? If God exists why he doesn’t feed the hungry, why do innocent children suffer?  Why God doesn’t prevent the screaming of the one who is being raped and brutally murdered? If God is perfect why is the imperfection in the world? If there is God, what he is doing right now? The questions were brilliantly raised by the child, and the other child supporting the existence of God defended very brilliantly, if there is no God, how the trees can give the fruits? How the river flows with water? Who gives life to the dead? Who created the universe? How flower blossoms? How do the birds fly? And how the mountains having medicinal values stand high? Now, it was for me to give a satisfactory answer to the toughest question of the world.  I picked up a dead body of an ant and asked, “What is this” they replied, “It’s a dead ant”. I asked why it is dead, they replied because there is no soul (life) in its body. Then I asked can you see or touch the soul?  They replied, “No,” I said the same thing happens with God. Every soul in any living being is the part of God, you can’t see or touch it, but you can feel it. The soul cannot be physically touched by your senses but it can be touched by your good deeds of kindness, sympathy, affection, cooperation, determination, compassion, and wisdom. If you are in trouble even two words of sympathy can touch your soul; such a kind of quality is produced only by the kingdom of the soul where the God is, and I conclusively said The kingdom of God is within you. All the creatures are the portion of the Supreme God, the one eternal and imperishable, and in the same way, our soul is the portion of God.

“All creatures(souls) are the portion of one indestructible God, and they are indestructible and eternal like God.”- Tulsi Das [1]

The power of the soul can be strengthened by good deeds and renunciation of greed and desires, following the path of spirituality you can recognize the God within you as well as all over around you. In the world of spirituality, you can find that he is in form of your soul and the whole world is his home.

“ O the creator of dreams, why do you keep searching for God? Nature is his home, purity his abode, and life is but his blessings, keep loving nature and its beings, then you can see divinity all over.”- A.P.J. Abdul Kalam [2]

The Kingdom of God is too big, everything comes out of God and reverts to him. Various ways are built by various religions and all they reach at one, the eternal and imperishable, invincible but invisible to the material world, the king of kings omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. It is necessary to put some examples here, that how all religions lead to one.

“There is no image of him, he is unborn, and he should be worshipped.”[3] – Yajurveda, chapter 32, verse 3

“God is bodiless and pure.”[4]Yajurveda, chapter 40, verse 8

“God is one and not a second”[5]Chandogya Upanishad, chapter 6, section 2, verse 1
